For each project you will be asked by your tutor to sign an authentication form that confirms that the work you have submitted for assessment is your own and that you have not copied it from someone else or allowed another candidate to copy from you.

A late hand-in will automatically be referred.

Students who provide evidence that does not meet all of the assessment criteria will be referred.

All referred work re-submitted will be capped at satisfactory.

Students re-submitted work that does not meet the assessment criteria will receive a Fail grade.

Remember collation of all evidence is your responsibility, this includes audial and visual recordings.

Task 1
This task addresses:

Learning outcomes: 1 & 2
Assessment criteria: 1.1,1.2, 2.1.

Produce a written self-evaluation of your current skills, experiences and knowledge focusing on how you will continue to develop these.

Produce a written document that shows that you have researched at least 2 institutions with music courses that suit your strengths and personal ambitions and evaluated all the different communication channels that you have accessed, for example, websites etc.

Produce a written document that shows that you have researched at least 2 employment opportunities available to you, also evaluating all the different communication channels that you have accessed, for example, social media etc.

Write a personal statement that supports your UCAS application.
-
Write a C.V. that supports your employment opportunities.
-
All your sources must be correctly referenced using the Harvard referencing method.

Task 2
This task addresses:
Learning outcomes: 2 & 3
Assessment criteria: 2.2, 3.1
Using all the knowledge and information that you have acquired while completing task 1:

Choose a communication channel e.g. a website, youtube channel, facebook etc...

Create a resource that will communicate your skills and talent to the music industry or educational institutes e.g. example of your work, CV etc...

Task 3: Production Students Only
Task 3 - Production Pathway
This task addresses:
Learning outcomes: 3
Assessment criteria: 3.1
• You must submit 2 tracks of your music production work at an audition
• Your tracks must be at least 3 minutes long
• The tracks must be programmed and mixed by you.
• Your tracks must be converted to a suitable audio file format.
• Any recording elements must be managed by you, although you can collaborate, e.g. with a singer or guitarist.
Preparing for the Audition:
• Create a folder that contains all your material
• Make this folder accessible to your tutor one day before the audition, by sending a link via "Teams".
• During your audition, you will be asked about your interest in music production.
Audition Details:
• They will be held in the main recording studio week TBC. You will be provided with the exact date and time near the audition
• They will last about 30 minutes, this includes preparation time.

Task 3: Performance Students Only
Performance Pathway
This task addresses:
Learning outcomes: 3
Assessment criteria: 3.1
​
• You must prepare 2 songs to perform at an audition
• Each must be at least 2.30 minutes long
• They must vary in tempo and be of contrasting styles e.g., not 2 Ska punk or Billie Eilish songs
Preparing for the Audition
• You must set up a device for visual recording e.g., phone, Ipad.
• During this audition will also be asked about your interest in music performance
• Please ensure everything is prepared and set up in advance of your audition along with any additional equipment that you require.
If you are using backing tracks you must bring them on a device that can be connected to a mixing desk.
Please note: If you are using backing tracks they need of a decent quality and your parts must be inaudible.
Audition Details:
• They will be held in the music area on TBC
• They will last approximately 30 minutes, this includes preparation time.
