  • Task 1: All parts of this task must be completed and handed-in by: *27/02/26*at 16.00,​​

  • Task 1: All students will present their PowerPoint on Thursday 26th February 2026 in the recording studio, starting at 9.15am. 

  • Completed Task 2,3 and 4 and  hand-in by: 16.00 on *01/05/26 *
  • Students re-submitted work that does not meet the assessment criteria will receive a Fail grade.

  • All referred work re-submitted will be capped at a PASS. 

  • Students who hands in late or provides insufficient evidence to meet all of the assessment criteria will be referred.

  • A late hand-in will automatically be referred.

  • Webliography and/or Bibliography. must be in Harvard format 

  • If applicable, all in-text citations must be referenced.

  • Primary and secondary sources must be referred to in a Webliography and/or Bibliography.

  • For each project you will be asked by your tutor to sign an authentication form that confirms that the work you have submitted for assessment is your own and that you have not copied it from someone else or allowed another candidate to copy from you.

  • Remember collation of all evidence is your responsibility, this includes audial and visual recordings.

  • Any external storage devices containing evidence must also be handed in

  • Use “Teams- assignment'' to hand-in a link to your website. This must be done by the hand-in date.

  • Upload evidence to the relevant "Project " page of your “WIX" website   â€‹

  • If you are unable to fulfil the tasks or achieve the hand-in date contact your tutor via "Teams".

Aims of the Project:

This project will allow you to use all your skills developed throughout Unit 1 to 7 and put these to practise in support of collaborative music performance/technology project.

​

On your journey through this course you have developed skills within various techniques used in music performance and production. You have also developed academic skills, which enable you to research and reflect on your work and the work of others, it is now time for you to apply these skills and knowledge.

 

The project will test your knowledge, performance/ production skills and give you the chance to produce a musical project with a combination of tasks -

Outline of Unit 8:

The final unit is graded against the learning outcomes and the exemplification matrix, which can be found in the qualification specification. You should familiarise yourself with the assessment criteria and the descriptions in the ‘Exemplification Matrix’ within the ‘Guide for Students’ section.

 

Throughout your course your skills and development will be in a portfolio, you should use these portfolios, the feedback from your Tutors and further research within this project.

 

The assessment is not just about the final project, you are being assessed on all elements highlighted in the exemplification matrix and is about your understanding of the process.

PROJECT PROPOSAL

Analyse the requirements and parameters of a collaborative music performance project.

Task Description:

Task one is to clearly define and outline what your project will be. What do you hope to achieve, what will the end result be and how will you go about making sure it is all ready.

Outline of Task 1:

You will produce a project proposal of approximately 350 words (no more than 850 words); this is excluding the Project Plan and Bibliography. You will also produce a video that shows you explaining and discusses your proposal to an audience. 

 

The proposal is broken into five following main parts that basically cover the full project and must be addressed from start to finish.

Project Proposal

Your Proposal must include:

Rationale: Approximately 100 words - 

Project Concept: Approximately 200 words -

Evaluation: Approximately 50 words 

Project Plan: Weekly Plan covering and mapping the project 

Bibliography
: Harvard References to resources

Video Presentation​

You will present a PPT presentation on: Thursday 26th February 2026 in the recording studio, starting at 9.15am. This presentation will take place in-front of your peers and your tutor and must further clarifies what your project will be. Take this as extra opportunity to explain, clarify and support what has been outlined throughout your proposal. You are responsible for the filming of your presentation and uploading it onto YouTube.
